Questions

Where do the recalls come from?

From the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall database and manufacturer notices. We match them to the exact model numbers you add.

How do you know how long my appliance will last?

We start with typical service life for that type of product, then adjust for the specific model. For light bulbs we use rated hours and how many hours a day the bulb is on.

What if I don't know when it was installed?

Many model stickers include a manufacture date in the serial number. We read it when we can, and you can always enter a rough year.

Do I have to call the manufacturer when there's a recall?

No. Tap "File recall claim" and HomesCheckr sends your model, serial number and address to the manufacturer's recall program for you. You can follow the claim's progress in your dashboard.

Who are the companies listed when something breaks?

Local, licensed and insured service companies. HomesCheckr partners pay to be listed first and are always marked "Sponsored". Other nearby pros are listed below them.

Do I need to register my products with every manufacturer?

No. You add them once in HomesCheckr and we watch all of them for you.
